Kerramax Care™ Super-Absorbent Dressing - 2" x 2", 10/bx

The Solventum Kerramax Care™ Super-Absorbent Dressing (SKU PRD500-025) is a sterile, non-adhesive primary or secondary dressing designed for high-precision management of moderately to highly exuding wounds. This 2 inch x 2 inch (5 cm x 5 cm) square is the smallest configuration in the Kerramax line, making it ideal for localized drainage sites where a larger dressing would be bulky or wasteful. It utilizes an Exu-Safe™ super-absorbent core to wick and lock away wound fluid, providing a high-capacity solution in a compact footprint that is perfect for use under compression or on patients with extremely sensitive skin.

Key Features

  • Exu-Safe™ Technology: The advanced internal core is engineered to absorb and retain high volumes of exudate, locking it vertically within the dressing to prevent lateral moisture spread and protect the periwound skin from maceration.
  • Non-Adhesive Design: Lacks an integrated adhesive border, providing a "skin-safe" option for patients with high-risk, fragile skin or for use in conjunction with specialized securement systems like compression wraps and tubular bandages.
  • High Fluid Retention: Designed to securely hold absorbed fluid and sequestered bacteria even when subjected to external mechanical pressure from compression therapy or patient movement.
  • Vertical Wicking Action: Rapidly pulls moisture away from the wound bed into the center of the dressing, keeping the wound edges dry and maintaining an environment conducive to healing.
  • Heat-Sealed Perimeter: The edges are fully heat-sealed to prevent the internal super-absorbent polymers from leaking into the wound bed, ensuring the dressing remains intact throughout its wear time.
  • Breathable and Protective: The outer layer is water-resistant to prevent fluid strike-through while remaining breathable to support moisture vapor exchange and overall skin health.

Ideal Clinical Applications

  • Small High-Exudate Wounds: Precision choice for managing drainage in small localized pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers.
  • Laparoscopic and Arthroscopic Ports: Perfectly sized for covering small surgical entry points that exhibit high serous drainage.
  • Biopsy and Minor Excision Sites: Provides high-capacity absorption for dermatological or diagnostic procedures that require a non-adhesive, absorbent cover.
  • Pediatric and Geriatric Care: The non-adhesive format and small size are specifically suited for the fragile skin profiles often found in infants and elderly patients.
  • Secondary Dressing Support: Often used to provide targeted extra absorption over primary fillers (such as alginates) in small, deep cavity wounds.

Important Safety Information

Do Not Cut: This dressing must not be cut. Cutting the dressing breaks the heat-sealed perimeter and the internal matrix, which will cause the super-absorbent material to leak into the wound and lead to total dressing failure.

Securement Required: As a non-adhesive dressing, this product requires a secondary securement method (such as medical tape, a transparent film dressing, or a compression wrap) to remain in place.
