The Solventum Medipore™ +Pad (SKU 3564) is a sterile, all-in-one island dressing designed for professional clinical use on small-to-moderate wound sites. This 2 3/8" x 4" (6cm x 10cm) rectangular configuration features a 1" x 2 3/8" (2.5cm x 6cm) non-adherent central pad, making it a high-precision choice for managing minor surgical incisions, laparoscopic ports, and skin tears. Constructed with a soft, porous cloth tape backing, the dressing provides exceptional multi-directional stretch, allowing it to conform to anatomical curves and accommodate localized post-operative swelling without compromising the seal. By integrating a highly absorbent pad with a hypoallergenic adhesive border, the Medipore™ +Pad eliminates the need for separate gauze and tape, providing a secure, breathable, and skin-friendly barrier.

Key Features

  • Soft Cloth Tape Backing: The porous, non-woven polyester backing facilitates superior moisture vapor and oxygen exchange, helping to maintain skin health and significantly reducing the risk of maceration.
  • Non-Adherent Absorbent Pad: Features a specialized central island pad that captures light-to-moderate exudate without sticking to the wound bed, ensuring pain-free removal and protecting delicate granulation tissue.
  • Multi-Directional Stretch: The conformable fabric is engineered to flex with the body's natural movements and accommodate anatomical edema, making it ideal for application on high-mobility areas or small joints.
  • Hypoallergenic Adhesive: The medical-grade adhesive provides a dependable, long-term hold while remaining gentle on sensitive or fragile skin, minimizing the risk of adhesive-related skin injuries (MARSI).
  • Sterile and Latex-Free: Individually wrapped to maintain a sterile field until application; 100% natural rubber latex-free to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare staff.

Ideal Clinical Applications

  • Laparoscopic & Arthroscopic Ports: Perfectly sized for covering the small entry points associated with minimally invasive surgeries.
  • Biopsy and Minor Excision Sites: Provides a secure and breathable protective barrier for dermatological or diagnostic procedures.
  • Minor Traumatic Wounds: Ideal for managing small lacerations, abrasions, and skin tears, shielding the site from external contaminants while managing minor drainage.
  • IV & Central Line Protection: Can be utilized to secure and protect puncture sites or specialized catheter insertions where a soft cloth interface is preferred for patient comfort.
  • Pediatric and Geriatric Care: The gentle adhesive and soft cloth backing are particularly suited for the fragile skin profiles often found in pediatric and elderly populations.

Important Safety Information

Skin Tension Warning: To prevent mechanical skin trauma and tension blisters, do not stretch the dressing during application. Apply the center over the wound first and smooth the adhesive borders outward without pulling the fabric.

Hemostasis Requirement: Ensure that active bleeding is controlled and adequate hemostasis is achieved at the wound site before applying the dressing to maintain a secure adhesive seal.

Adhesion Protocol: For optimal performance, the skin must be clean, dry, and free of any prep-liquid or detergent residue. Clipping hair is recommended over shaving to minimize the risk of skin irritation.

Latex Status: Both the dressing and its packaging are 100% Latex-Free, making it safe for use in all clinical environments with latex sensitivities.
