Transpore™ Single Use Surgical Tape - 2" x 1 1/2 yds, Transparent, 50 rl/bx, 5 bx/cs

Please note: All prices are for cases.

The Solventum Transpore™ Single Use Surgical Tape (1527S-2) is a professional-grade, transparent, plastic-based medical tape specifically designed for infection control and high-efficiency clinical environments. This "Single Use" configuration provides a 1.5-yard roll to support facility-wide mandates aimed at reducing cross-contamination between patients. The tape features a perforated, transparent polyethylene film that is easy to tear bi-directionally by hand, making it a critical tool for clinicians who require rapid, customizable securement without the use of scissors.

Engineered with a high-tack, hypoallergenic, pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive, the Transpore™ 1527S-2 delivers superior initial and long-term bond strength to both dry and damp skin surfaces. Its transparent nature allows for continuous clinical monitoring of the underlying skin or securement site without requiring the removal of the tape. The 2-inch width provides a robust surface area for the stabilization of larger medical devices, such as urinary catheters or heavy-duty dressings, ensuring they remain in place even under physical strain or movement.

Key Features

  • Single Use Format: 1.5-yard roll length designed to minimize clinical waste and support strict hospital-wide infection control protocols.
  • Bi-Directional Perforations: Micro-perforated film allows for clean, easy tearing by hand, enabling clinicians to customize width and length rapidly.
  • Transparent Film: Permits direct visualization of the securement site and skin condition without removing the tape.
  • High Initial Tack: Provides immediate and reliable adhesion to skin and medical tubing, even in the presence of minor moisture.
  • Breathable Construction: The perforated design allows for moisture vapor transmission to help preserve skin integrity during wear.

Ideal Clinical Features

  • Infection Control Mandates: Specifically indicated for use in isolation rooms, ICUs, or emergency departments where multi-patient rolls are prohibited.
  • Critical Device Securement: Ideal for anchoring IV lines, urinary catheters, and non-critical medical tubing where high-strength adhesion is required.
  • Bulky Dressing Fixation: Provides a wide-format securement layer for large primary dressings and surgical gauze.
  • Clinical Monitoring Sites: Used where visual inspection of the site or skin is necessary without disturbing the tape.

Important Safety Information

Contraindications

Do not use this product as the primary securement method for critical life-support equipment, such as endotracheal tubes or arterial lines, where a high-strength, high-tack adhesive specifically rated for critical life support is mandated.

Do not apply this tape directly to infected wound beds, deep cavity wounds, or areas of active hemorrhage.

Warnings & Precautions

Do not apply Transpore™ tape under tension. Applying medical tape with "stretch" can cause mechanical tension-induced skin injury, including localized blistering or epidermal stripping once the tape attempts to return to its original state.

Ensure the application site is clean and dry before use. While this product is designed to hold on damp skin, the presence of topical ointments, oily residues, or heavy moisture will significantly degrade the initial performance of the pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive.

This tape has a higher adhesion level than paper tapes. For patients with known extremely fragile skin, clinicians should use extra caution or consider a gentler adhesive option like Micropore™ to minimize the risk of skin tears.

To remove properly, loosen the tape's leading edge and remove "low and slow" in the direction of hair growth while stabilizing the skin with the other hand. Do not pull the tape perpendicular to the skin.

Store the product in a cool, dry environment (50-80°F) to maintain adhesive integrity. Exposure to extreme heat or high humidity may affect product performance and shelf life.
