Please note: All prices are for cases.

The Solventum Transpore™ Single Use Surgical Tape (1527S-1) is a professional-grade, transparent plastic medical tape specifically engineered for high-efficiency clinical environments that prioritize infection control through single-use protocols. This "Single Use" configuration provides the same high-tack and bi-directional tear performance as the standard Transpore™ line but is supplied in shorter, 1.5-yard rolls to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination associated with multi-patient use of larger tape rolls. The hypoallergenic, pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive is designed to offer a reliable initial bond to both dry and damp skin, as well as medical tubing and devices.

Each roll features a macro-perforated polyethylene film that allows for moisture vapor transmission, which is critical for maintaining skin integrity and preventing maceration during securement. The 1-inch width is the standard institutional size for precision securement of lightweight dressings and secondary medical devices. Designed for convenience in fast-paced clinical settings, the tape is easily hand-tearable in both directions—even while wearing gloves—allowing clinicians to tailor the tape width and length rapidly without the need for additional cutting tools.

Key Features

  • Single Use Roll Format: Specifically sized at 1.5 yards to support facility-wide infection control mandates and minimize per-patient waste.
  • Bi-Directional Perforations: Allows for easy, straight tearing by hand, enabling clinicians to customize tape width for various dressings and devices.
  • Transparent Film: Permits continuous visualization of the securement site and underlying skin condition without removing the tape.
  • High Initial Tack: Delivers immediate and reliable adhesion to skin and medical tubing, maintaining security for up to 72 hours.
  • Hypoallergenic Adhesive: Clinically tested to be non-sensitizing, making it suitable for a wide range of patient populations.

Ideal Clinical Applications

  • Infection Control Protocols: Ideal for isolation rooms, ICUs, or emergency departments where shared multi-use rolls are strictly prohibited.
  • General Purpose Securement: Used for blood draws, IV site stabilization, and lightweight dressing fixation.
  • Device Anchoring: Secures catheters, I.V. tubing, and other non-critical medical tubes where high-strength adhesion is required.
  • Custom Width Taping: Ideal for clinical scenarios where the tape must be customized into thin strips for precision placement.

Important Safety Information

Contraindications

Do not use this product as the primary securement method for critical life-support equipment, such as endotracheal tubes or arterial lines, where a high-strength, high-tack adhesive specifically rated for critical life support is mandated.

Do not apply this tape directly to infected wound beds, deep cavity wounds, or areas of active hemorrhage.

Warnings & Precautions

Do not apply Transpore™ tape under tension. Applying medical tape with "stretch" can cause mechanical tension-induced skin injury, including localized blistering or epidermal stripping once the tape attempts to return to its original state.

Ensure the application site is clean and dry before use. While this product is designed to hold on damp skin, the presence of topical ointments, oily residues, or heavy moisture will significantly degrade the initial performance of the pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive.

This tape has a higher adhesion level than paper tapes. For patients with known extremely fragile skin, clinicians should use extra caution or consider a gentler adhesive option like Micropore™ to minimize the risk of skin tears.

To remove properly, loosen the tape's leading edge and remove "low and slow" in the direction of hair growth while stabilizing the skin with the other hand. Do not pull the tape perpendicular to the skin.

Store the product in a cool, dry environment (50-80°F) to maintain adhesive integrity. Exposure to extreme heat or high humidity may affect product performance and shelf life.
