Posey® - Alarm Bracket, Wheelchair
Please note: All prices are for individual units.
The Posey® Wheelchair Bracket (8289) is a durable, specialized mounting accessory designed to securely attach Posey® fall monitoring alarms to the rear frame of a wheelchair. This bracket provides a stable, elevated platform for the alarm unit, ensuring it remains visible and accessible to clinical staff while staying out of the immediate reach of the patient. By elevating the monitor, the bracket helps prevent accidental damage and ensures that audible alerts are not muffled by seat cushions or patient clothing.
Constructed for long-term clinical use, the bracket features a simple slide-on design with an integrated release lever for rapid monitor attachment and removal. This specific mounting solution is essential for maintaining a tidy, organized care environment and reducing the risk of monitors being dropped or misplaced during patient transport. It is engineered to integrate seamlessly with the existing hardware on most standard wheelchair backs, requiring only basic tools for a secure, permanent installation.

Contraindications: Do not use this bracket if the wheelchair frame is damaged or if the mounting screws cannot be tightened securely. Not intended for use on motorized scooters or chairs where mounting interferes with the drive mechanism.
Warnings & Precautions: This bracket is a mounting accessory only and does not provide monitoring on its own. Ensure the bracket is mounted in a location where the alarm's indicator lights are clearly visible to staff. Regularly inspect the bracket for cracks or loose hardware; if the bracket is loose, the alarm may fall and sustain damage, potentially rendering the fall monitoring system ineffective.
Verify that the alarm unit is fully "clicked" into place on the bracket before leaving the patient. Failure to secure the alarm may result in the unit falling off during transport. Ensure that any sensor cables connected to the alarm are routed away from the wheelchair wheels and moving parts to avoid entanglement or tripping hazards.
