Bridge Healthcare BridgeSTAR™ Turning/Repositioning Wedges (PS-W16115) are high-density foam clinical tools specifically engineered to support patient offloading and pressure injury prevention protocols. These 25-degree anatomical wedges provide a stable, consistent lateral tilt for patients who require regular interval turning, effectively redistributing weight away from the sacrum and other high-risk bony prominences. By maintaining a precise 25-degree incline, these wedges provide a comfortable alternative for patients who may not tolerate a steeper tilt while still achieving significant pressure redistribution.
The BridgeSTAR™ repositioning wedges offer targeted support for various body types, ensuring stability throughout the repositioning cycle. Each wedge is constructed with a medical-grade, vapor-permeable cover that is moisture-resistant yet breathable, helping to manage the microclimate of the skin. The non-skid bottom material ensures the wedge remains securely in place against the bed linens, reducing the need for frequent manual readjustments by nursing staff and enhancing overall patient comfort and safety.
Key Features
-
Precise 25-Degree Angle: Engineered to provide effective pressure redistribution and sacral offloading for patients requiring a moderate lateral tilt.
-
High-Density Support Core: Constructed from medical-grade foam that provides firm, consistent support without bottoming out over time.
-
Moisture-Resistant Cover: Features a vapor-permeable, wipeable surface that protects the foam core from fluids while remaining gentle on patient skin.
-
Non-Skid Stability: Integrated non-slip base prevents migration during patient movement, ensuring consistent positioning.
-
Compact 16" Format: Designed for targeted support, allowing for precise placement under specific anatomical regions.
Ideal Clinical Applications
-
Pressure Injury Prevention: Used as a primary intervention for patients at high risk of developing skin breakdown due to immobility.
-
Interval Repositioning: Ideal for implementing "Turn Every 2 Hours" protocols in ICU, long-term care, and med-surg environments.
-
Comfort-Focused Offloading: Suitable for patients who require pressure redistribution but cannot tolerate steeper 30 or 45-degree angles.

Contraindications Do not use this product for patients with unstable spinal fractures or other medical conditions where lateral positioning is clinically restricted. Do not use as a life-saving flotation device.
Warnings & Precautions
CAUTION: Monitor patient skin integrity regularly at contact points. Ensure the wedge is positioned according to facility turning protocols to avoid unintended pressure points. Regularly inspect patient skin at all contact points; prolonged pressure from any device can lead to tissue compromise.
Ensure the wedge is placed over the bottom bed sheet and never in direct contact with broken or severely compromised skin. Use the integrated directional arrows to ensure the wedge is placed correctly to provide the intended 30-degree incline. To prevent cross-contamination and ensure clinical efficacy, this wedge is intended for single patient use only.
Keep away from open flames or high-heat sources; while flame-retardant, the foam core can be damaged by excessive heat. Inspect the moisture-resistant cover regularly for punctures or tears; if the integrity of the cover is compromised, the wedge should be replaced to prevent internal foam contamination.
Wipe clean with hospital-approved disinfectant between uses for the same patient; do not launder or submerge the foam core in liquid.
