The ICU Medical Jelco® Blunt Fill Needle with 5 Micron Filter is a high-performance safety device engineered to streamline the medication preparation process while significantly reducing the risk of accidental needlestick injuries. Designed with a non-sharp rounded tip and a specialized 45-degree bevel, this needle effectively penetrates vial stoppers and accesses IV bags with significantly more skin penetration force than a standard needle. The integrated filter membrane ensures the removal of glass particulates and other contaminants during aspiration, providing an essential layer of patient safety during drug reconstitution and delivery.

This device is strictly for single-use only and is intended for medication preparation only. Do not use for patient injection, as the blunt tip and high penetration force required make it unsuitable for skin puncture. Do not attempt to re-use or re-sterilize, as this increases the risk of cross-contamination and may result in the mechanical failure of the filter or needle hub.
The Blunt Fill Needle with 5 Micron Filter is to be used to draw up medication from an ampule only and not for subsequent patient injection. Always dispose of the entire device in an approved sharps container immediately after use according to facility protocol and NIOSH/CDC recommendations. Do not use if the individual sterile packaging is damaged or opened prior to use. Always ensure a secure connection between the needle hub and the syringe before aspirating medication.
