The Neuropen® is a dual-purpose handheld diagnostic device designed for the standardized evaluation of peripheral neuropathy. This precision instrument features a calibrated spring mechanism that delivers a repeatable force of 40g to a Neurotips™ examination pin, allowing clinicians to safely assess pain and sharpness sensation without skin puncture. A second integrated port houses a 10g monofilament designed to bend at a specific pressure to test for loss of protective sensation in the diabetic foot. By combining these two distinct testing modalities into a single pocket-sized tool, the device enables healthcare professionals to conduct comprehensive screenings for both small and large nerve fiber dysfunction.
