ALLEVYN◊ Life Silicone Gel Adhesive Foam Dressing - Sacrum Dressing, Small, 17.2cm x 17.5cm, 10/bx, 6 bx/cs
ALLEVYN◊ Life Sacrum (Smith & Nephew) is a multi-layered foam dressing featuring a silicone wound contact layer. Designed for the sacral area, the multi-layered construction of ALLEVYN◊ Life absorbs and locks away fluid, reducing the risk of maceration. Silicone adhesive provides secure fixation with gentle removal, minimizing trauma to the peri-wound skin. ALLEVYN◊ Life provides a breathable, waterproof top layer for protection against external contamination while facilitating moisture vapor transmission.
ALLEVYN◊ Life dressings incorporate visual change indicators to optimize wear time and reduce unnecessary dressing replacements. Anatomical shaping specifically addresses high-risk requirements of sacral sites, providing cushioned protection to assist in reducing shear and friction.

Key Features
Five-Layer Construction: Integrates multiple functional layers to maximize fluid management, absorption, and patient comfort.
Exudate Masking Layer: Designed to reduce the visibility of wound fluid, helping to improve patient confidence and well-being.
Gentle Silicone Adhesive: Ensures a secure hold on fragile skin while allowing for atraumatic removal and repositioning.
Anatomical Sacral Design: Engineered specifically to conform to the sacral cleft and lower back, providing a better seal and reducing the risk of the dressing rolling or lifting.
Pressure Redistribution: The thick foam core provides a cushioning effect that assists in the prevention and management of pressure-related injuries on the sacrum.
Advanced Fluid Locking: Retains absorbed exudate even under compression, significantly reducing the risk of periwound maceration.
Ideal Clinical Applications
Moderate to Heavily Exuding Sacral Wounds: Optimized for wounds in the sacral and coccygeal region requiring high-capacity fluid management.
Fragile and Sensitive Skin: Ideal for patients with compromised skin integrity where standard adhesives may cause trauma.
Pressure Ulcer Management: Effective for both the treatment of existing sacral pressure ulcers and as part of a prophylactic pressure injury prevention protocol.
Incontinence Protection: The specialized shape and waterproof barrier provide a secure seal that protects the wound from moisture associated with incontinence.
