The Solventum Coban™ Self-Adherent Wrap (1582B) is a professional-grade cohesive wrap specifically engineered for multi-functional clinical support and securement. Constructed from a porous, non-woven material integrated with elastic fibers, this wrap is designed to adhere strictly to itself without the use of pins, clips, or chemical adhesives that can damage the skin barrier. This wrap provides a reliable, non-slip compression layer that maintains consistent tension over time, making it an essential component for clinicians managing post-operative swelling, wound care, or orthopedic stabilization.
This 2-inch width configuration is the standard institutional size for anatomical regions such as the wrists, ankles, and pediatric limbs where precise coverage and high conformability are required. Because the material is highly conformable and does not stick to hair or skin, it is the preferred choice for patients with fragile, "tissue-paper," or at-risk skin who cannot tolerate traditional adhesive tapes. The blue color provides a high-visibility option for clinical tracking or patient preference, while the breathable, lightweight structure ensures patient comfort and promotes skin health by allowing air circulation to the underlying tissues.
Key Features
- Precision Width Coverage: 2-inch profile allows for efficient wrapping of small joints and anatomical sites with fewer layers, reducing bulk.
- Cohesive Adhesion: Sticks only to itself, ensuring that removal is completely atraumatic to the skin and will not pull hair or leave sticky residues.
- Consistent Compression: Maintains the degree of tension set during application, reducing the need for frequent readjustments in active patients.
- Breathable Porous Construction: Facilitates air flow and moisture vapor exchange to minimize the risk of skin maceration.
- Bi-Directional Conformability: Easily adapts to complex anatomical contours, including the torso and large muscle groups, without slipping or bunching.
Ideal Clinical Applications
- Post-Phlebotomy/Blood Draw Securement: Ideal for applying localized pressure following venipuncture or arterial sticks to promote hemostasis.
- Compression Therapy for Edema: Used to manage swelling associated with venous insufficiency, lymphedema, or post-traumatic injury.
- Primary Dressing Fixation: Provides a secure, wrap-around secondary layer for holding primary wound dressings and gauze in place on limbs.
- Orthopedic Immobilization and Support: Acts as a reliable wrap for stabilizing splints, protecting sprains, or providing support for strained ligaments and muscles.
- Medical Device and Tubing Anchor: Secures IV sets, monitors, and other medical devices to the limb without the need for skin-contact adhesives.
- Surgical Post-Op Support: Frequently used following orthopedic or vascular surgery to provide gentle, uniform compression to the surgical site.

Important Safety Information
Contraindications
Do not apply this wrap directly to open wounds, infected wound beds, or areas of active hemorrhage without a sterile primary dressing in place.
Do not use this product as a primary method for arterial compression unless under the direct supervision of a vascular specialist or trained clinician.
Warnings & Precautions
Do not apply Coban™ wrap with excessive tension. Applying any self-adherent wrap too tightly can cause circulatory impairment, nerve damage, or localized tissue necrosis. Clinicians must monitor the application site frequently for signs of discoloration (blue/pale skin), numbness, tingling, or increased swelling distal to the wrap.
If the wrap is used to secure a medical device or splint, ensure that the device's function is not compromised by the pressure of the wrap and that the underlying skin is monitored for pressure-related injury.
This product is designed for single-patient use only. Reusing the wrap can lead to a loss of cohesive properties, reduced compression reliability, and increases the risk of cross-contamination between patients.
Do not use adhesive tape to secure the tail end of the wrap directly to the patient's skin; the wrap is designed to be a cohesive-only system to protect the integrity of the epidermis.
Store the product in a cool, dry environment (59–86°F) to preserve the cohesive strength. Exposure to high heat or humidity may cause the material to become tacky or lose its ability to adhere to itself effectively.
