The Solventum Medipore™ +Pad (SKU 3568) is a sterile, all-in-one island dressing designed for professional clinical use. This 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) square configuration features a large 4" x 4 1/2" (10cm x 11.5cm) non-adherent central pad, making it the preferred choice for wide surgical incisions, large pressure injuries, and extensive traumatic wounds. Constructed with a soft, porous cloth tape backing, the dressing provides exceptional multi-directional stretch to accommodate significant post-operative edema and patient movement. By combining a highly absorbent pad with a hypoallergenic adhesive border, the Medipore™ +Pad eliminates the logistical need for separate gauze and tape while providing a secure, skin-friendly barrier.
Key Features
- Soft Cloth Tape Backing: The breathable, non-woven polyester backing facilitates superior moisture vapor and oxygen exchange, which is critical for preventing periwound skin maceration in larger wound sites.
- Non-Adherent Absorbent Pad: Features a specialized central island pad that captures moderate exudate without adhering to the wound bed, ensuring trauma-free removal and protecting delicate granulation tissue.
- Multi-Directional Stretch: The conformable fabric is engineered to flex with the body’s natural contours and anatomical swelling, ensuring the dressing remains secure on high-movement areas like the abdomen or back.
- Hypoallergenic Adhesive: The medical-grade adhesive provides a dependable, long-lasting hold even on larger surface areas, while remaining gentle enough for sensitive or fragile skin.
- Sterile and Latex-Free: Individually wrapped to maintain a sterile field until application; 100% natural rubber latex-free to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare providers.
Ideal Clinical Applications
- Post-Surgical Incision Management: Perfectly sized for larger abdominal incisions, hip replacements, and back surgeries where a wide area of protection is required.
- Large Pressure Injuries: A primary choice for managing Stage II pressure ulcers on the sacrum or trochanter where a square, flexible footprint is needed.
- Traumatic Wounds and Lacerations: Provides a secure and breathable protective barrier for large-surface abrasions or dehisced surgical sites, shielding the area from external contaminants.
- Chronic Wound Care: Indicated for venous leg ulcers or diabetic ulcers with light-to-moderate drainage during the middle-to-late stages of healing.
- Secondary Dressing Support: Often used to secure large primary fillers (such as alginates or foams) in deep cavity wounds that require a breathable, high-stretch outer cover.

Important Safety Information
Skin Tension Warning: To prevent mechanical skin trauma and tension blisters, do not stretch the dressing during application. Apply the center over the wound first and smooth the adhesive borders outward without pulling or tensioning the fabric.
Hemostasis Requirement: Ensure active bleeding is controlled and adequate hemostasis is achieved at the wound site before applying the dressing to maintain a secure adhesive seal.
Adhesion Protocol: For optimal performance, the skin must be clean, dry, and free of any prep-liquid or detergent residue. Clipping hair is recommended over shaving to minimize skin irritation and risk of folliculitis.
Latex Status: Both the dressing and its packaging are 100% Latex-Free, making it suitable for use in facilities with strict latex-free protocols.
