The 3M™ Scotchcast™ Soft Cast Casting Tape is a unique, semi-rigid fiberglass casting material designed for applications where complete rigid immobilization is not required. Unlike standard "hard" casts, this tape does not set to a brittle state; it remains flexible and soft even after it is completely cured. This allows clinicians to select the specific level of stability required for an injury while maintaining a degree of functional mobility. It is highly valued in specialty areas such as pediatric orthopedics (for serial casting) and sports medicine (for thumb or ankle sprains), providing a more comfortable patient experience with pliable edges that eliminate the "saw-cut" irritation of traditional materials.
