The Solventum Transpore™ Surgical Tape (1530-3) is a professional-grade, transparent plastic medical tape specifically engineered for the high-strength securement of large-scale dressings and critical medical devices. This tape features a perforated polyethylene film that is designed to be easily hand-tearable in both horizontal and vertical directions, allowing clinicians to tailor the tape to the specific dimensions of a dressing without the need for surgical scissors. The high-tack, hypoallergenic, pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive is formulated to deliver a reliable, long-term bond (up to 72 hours) even in the presence of minor moisture or damp skin.
This specific 3-inch width configuration is the broadest standard roll in the Transpore™ series, providing maximum surface area for the stabilization of heavy-duty equipment such as chest tubes, urinary catheters, and bulky abdominal dressings. The transparent nature of the film is a critical clinical benefit, as it allows for continuous visual inspection of the underlying skin and the securement site without requiring the removal of the tape. Its breathable, perforated construction supports skin health by facilitating the exchange of air and moisture vapor, reducing the risk of maceration during extended wear in institutional settings.
Key Features
- Maximum Width Securement: 3-inch profile provides a robust footprint for anchoring heavy medical tubing and large-format surgical dressings.
- Bi-Directional Perforated Film: Allows for rapid, clean, and customized tearing by hand in both directions, improving clinical workflow efficiency.
- Continuous Site Visualization: Transparent material allows for immediate identification of site complications or skin changes without disturbing the adhesive bond.
- High-Tack Adhesion: Specifically designed to provide superior initial and long-term security on both dry and damp skin surfaces.
- Hypoallergenic Adhesive: Clinically tested to minimize the risk of allergic reactions and skin irritation across diverse patient populations.
Ideal Clinical Applications
- Heavy Device Anchoring: Ideal for the primary securement of chest tubes, large-bore IVs, and urinary catheters.
- Large Surgical Dressings: Provides wide-area stabilization for abdominal, orthopedic, and thoracic post-operative dressings.
- Clinical Monitoring Protocols: Indicated for use where visual inspection of the periwound skin or tubing entry point is mandated.
- Custom Width Taping: Useful in scenarios where the clinician needs to tear the 3-inch width into several thinner strips for multi-point fixation.

Important Safety Information
Contraindications
Do not use this product as the primary securement method for critical life-support equipment, such as endotracheal tubes or arterial lines, where a high-strength, high-tack adhesive specifically rated for critical life support is mandated.
Do not apply this tape directly to infected wound beds, deep cavity wounds, or areas of active hemorrhage.
Warnings & Precautions
Do not apply Transpore™ tape under tension. Applying medical tape with "stretch" can cause mechanical tension-induced skin injury, including localized blistering or epidermal stripping once the tape attempts to return to its original state.
Ensure the application site is clean and dry before use. While this product is designed to hold on damp skin, the presence of topical ointments, oily residues, or heavy moisture will significantly degrade the initial performance of the pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive.
This tape has a higher adhesion level than paper tapes. For patients with known extremely fragile skin, clinicians should use extra caution or consider a gentler adhesive option like Micropore™ to minimize the risk of skin tears.
To remove properly, loosen the tape's leading edge and remove "low and slow" in the direction of hair growth while stabilizing the skin with the other hand. Do not pull the tape perpendicular to the skin.
Store the product in a cool, dry environment (50-80°F) to maintain adhesive integrity. Exposure to extreme heat or high humidity may affect product performance and shelf life.
