Posey® - Dukane Box Adapter, DB37P Male to D837P Female, 1/4" Bed Exit Jack, 12 ft Cord

Please note: All prices are for individual units.

The Posey® Dukane Box Adapter (8235NCPP) is a specialized integration interface designed to facilitate seamless communication between Posey® fall monitoring systems and Dukane nurse call infrastructures. This adapter box features a DB37P male to DB37P female pass-through configuration, allowing the facility to maintain existing bed functions while adding a dedicated 1/4-inch jack for fall alarm connectivity. The 12-foot cord provides significant reach, allowing for flexible placement of the fall monitor relative to the nurse call wall station, ensuring that alerts are transmitted immediately to the central nursing station.

Engineered for high-acuity environments, this adapter set is essential for facilities utilizing Dukane 37-pin systems that require a hardwired connection for "No Fall" protocols. By utilizing this adapter, caregivers can integrate the local bedside alarm with the facility's remote notification system, providing a redundant layer of safety that ensures a rapid response even if staff are not in the immediate vicinity. The robust construction of the connectors and the heavy-duty jacketing of the 12-foot cable are designed to withstand the mechanical stresses of frequent patient room reconfigurations and equipment cleaning.

Key Features

  • System Integration: Bridges the gap between Posey® fall alarms and Dukane 37-pin nurse call systems without sacrificing existing bed-to-wall functionality.

  • 1/4" Bed Exit Jack: Provides a dedicated, easy-access port for connecting Posey® Sitter On Cue® or KeepSafe® monitors directly to the facility network.

  • Extended 12-Foot Cord: Offers superior flexibility for monitor placement, accommodating large patient rooms and complex bedside equipment layouts.

  • Pass-Through Connectivity: The DB37P male to female design ensures that primary nurse call and bed control signals remain uninterrupted while adding monitoring capability.

  • Durable Design: Features reinforced strain relief and high-impact housing for the adapter box to ensure longevity in busy clinical settings.

Ideal Clinical Applications

  • Dukane-Equipped Facilities: Specifically designed for hospitals and long-term care units utilizing Dukane 37-pin nurse call architecture.

  • High-Risk Fall Monitoring: Essential for patients requiring centralized alerts to ensure nursing staff are notified the moment a patient attempts an unassisted exit.

  • Remote Notification Setup: Ideal for private rooms where local alarm audibility may be dampened by closed doors or distance from the nursing station.

Important Safety Information

Contraindications: Do not use if the pin configuration (37-pin) does not exactly match the facility’s wall jack or the bed's communication cable. Do not use if any pins are bent, missing, or if the cable insulation is compromised.

Warnings & Precautions: This adapter is a communication link only and does not provide fall monitoring on its own. It must be used with an active fall monitor and sensor pad. Always perform a "system check" after installation by triggering the fall monitor and verifying that the alert signal is successfully received at the central nurse call station.

Ensure the 12-foot cord is routed carefully to avoid tripping hazards for patients or staff. Do not allow the cable to be pinched by moving bed frames or side rails, as this can damage the internal wiring and lead to false alarms or a failure to signal. If the nurse call system does not reset or if the "dummy plug" (if applicable) is missing, the station may stay in a constant alarm state.
