The Posey® Fisher Berkeley Adapter Box (8235NCP) is a specialized interface solution designed to integrate Posey® fall monitoring systems with Fisher Berkeley nurse call infrastructures. This adapter box features a D51M male to T51F female pass-through configuration, allowing the facility to maintain existing bedside communication functions while adding a dedicated 1/4-inch jack for fall alarm connectivity. The inclusion of a 12-foot cord and a "dummy" plug ensures that the nurse call system remains active and functional, even when a fall monitor is not currently plugged in, by preventing false "cable out" alarms.
This adapter set is engineered to support "No Fall" protocols by bridging the local bedside alarm with the central nursing station. The 12-foot cord offers extensive reach for flexible equipment placement, allowing the fall monitor to be positioned for optimal caregiver access without straining the connection to the wall jack. Built for the demanding environment of professional healthcare facilities, the adapter box utilizes high-impact housing and reinforced strain relief to ensure reliable signal transmission and long-term durability in high-turnover patient rooms.
Key Features
-
Nurse Call Integration: Seamlessly connects Posey® fall monitors to Fisher Berkeley systems to provide immediate remote notification of patient exit attempts.
-
Pass-Through Connectivity: D51M to T51F configuration allows for the continued use of standard bed functions alongside fall monitoring.
-
Dummy Plug Included: Prevents the nurse call system from triggering a continuous "disconnected" alarm at the central station when the fall monitor is removed.
-
12-Foot Reach: The extended cable length facilitates versatile monitor placement, reducing the risk of cable strain or accidental disconnection.
-
Standard 1/4" Interface: Features a universal female jack that accepts standard Posey® nurse call cables (Model 8282).
Ideal Clinical Applications
-
Fisher Berkeley Equipped Units: Specifically designed for hospitals and geriatric care centers utilizing Fisher Berkeley nurse call architecture.
-
Centralized Patient Supervision: Ideal for high-risk fall patients where a rapid nursing response is required for safety.
-
Multi-Use Patient Rooms: Supports rooms where fall monitoring is used intermittently, as the dummy plug maintains system integrity between patients.

Contraindications: Do not use if the pin configuration (D51M/T51F) does not match the facility’s wall jack or bed cable. Do not use if the dummy plug is missing and the nurse call system requires it to prevent false alarms.
Warnings & Precautions: This adapter is a connection accessory and does not provide fall monitoring on its own. Always verify that the connection between the monitor, adapter, and wall jack is secure. Perform a functional test by triggering the fall monitor and confirming that the signal is received at the central nursing station before leaving the patient.
Ensure the 12-foot cable is routed safely to avoid tripping hazards. Do not allow the cable to be pinched by bed rails or moving furniture, as this can damage the internal wiring. If the nurse call station stays in a constant alarm state, ensure all connections are tight and the dummy plug is correctly inserted when a monitor is not in use.
